About Shaun:

From leaving school Shaun had numerous jobs over a 15 year period, none of which had any future prospects, nor were they rewarding or satisfying in any way for him. A series of events that lead him to college, and then onto university to study Psychology, at the university of York, helped give Shaun some direction and focus in his life. Whilst at university in the late 1990´s, Shaun first became interested in Eastern disciplines when he was attuned first into Reiki 1, then Reiki 2, and finally, in 2003, becoming a Reiki Master. He has practised Reiki for a number of years working in the Yorkshire area.

He is very interested in incorporating a way of treating the person as a whole, combining mind, body and spirit, trying to achieve this through practising Eastern disciplines (Tui Na and Reiki) together with western based psychological approaches. Shaun has studied Tui Na for over 4 years in the UK, and has also worked with Chinese Doctors in Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of TCM in Hangzhou, China, where he received his certificate of attendance qualification.

Shaun´s ambition is to continue the work of his teacher (Errol Dexter Lynch), some of which is, to spread the awareness of Tui Na and what Tui Na is, to the public, and the medical profession. Also, by helping Tui Na become available and affordable to all who choose to receive it. This is by opening more walk-in clinics in the Yorkshire area, the aim being that in the near future there will be a clinic/s open 7 days of the week.

One of the most rewarding parts of the work is, when a client comes to you saying "they need a hip replacement, which they have been told may or may not be a success", and between 6 or 8 weekly treatments later their hip problem is cured and they cancel their operation. Or a client comes to you with a frozen shoulder after being told "that they need an operation, and it will take 18 months to heal after the operation, and their problem could be worse than before the operation." After treating the client twice a week for 3 months with Tui Na, they have regained full mobility in their shoulder, and have very little discomfort. These feelings of success are priceless, and makes being a TuiNa practitioner all the more worthwhile.
